Wow, this past week we only followed part of our meal plan. Sick kids, husband working late…resulted in too many quick, less than balanced meals. There is next week right! I did manage to fix a few things however, so here are some of the meals, and their estimated costs for me to make them. I do use coupons when I shop, but not for everything that I buy. The reason I only estimated is because I didn’t want to have to go into the detail of how many exact ounces or 1/4 cups of something I used like oil or milk or flour and its cost to the penny, but regardless, I think I am pretty close on my estimates.
Pizza (my estimated cost: $4.00) Crust ingredients: $1.00 Partial jar of sauce: $1.00 Cheese: $2.00
Chicken and Pesto Stromboli (my estimated cost: $8.00) Dough ingredients: $1.00 Chicken: $4.00 Jarred pesto: $2.00 Cheese: $1.00
Hot Dogs (my estimated cost: $7.00) Hot Dogs: $2.00 Buns: $1.00 Carrots: $1.00 Apples: $1.00 Smileys: $2.00
Chicken, veggie and bisquit casserole (my estimated cost: $7.00) Bisquits: $1.00 Chicken: $4.00 Mixed veggies: $1.00 Soup and Milk: $1.00
Scrambled Eggs (my estimated cost: $5.00) Eggs: $2.00 Bagels: $1.00 Apples: $1.00 Carrots: $1.00
So for this week a couple of repeats…
Pasta e Fagioli soup, rolls and salad
Chef salad
Soft tacos and fixings
Pasta and a meat sauce, veggies and bread
Chicken, Sesame Noodles and broccoli
Have a Great week!
