While on vacation with my mom, I was leafing through a Walmart Family cookbook that she had, and found this recipe for a breakfast pizza. I’ve never used hashbrowns before so I was excited to try them in something, and this was my chance.
Here is what the recipe includes, and it serves 4.

1 8 oz. container of  crescent rolls
1 1/2 cups of hashbrowns sauteed
1/4 tsp. of salt
1/2 cup chopped vegetables (I used broccoli, but you could use peppers or mushrooms…)
1/4 cup meat, cooked and chopped (bacon, ground beef, ham or sausage)
1 cup of boxed eggs or 4 large eggs
1 cup of cheddar cheese

Lay out the crescent rolls in a 13×9 glass dish. Pat it down to join the seams, and push the dough up around the edges almost an inch.
Bake at 400 degrees for 3 minutes just to get it started baking.
Then spread potatoes over the crust and sprinkle with the salt.  Top with the vegetables (make sure they are nice and dry) and with your choice of meat. Pour  the eggs over the top and then sprinkle with cheese.

Bake again for about 15-18 minutes till your eggs are cooked.

Enjoy!

  12. I tried out this recipe today since I wanted to use up my left over ham from Thanksgiving. I used real eggs and maybe that was my problem. It is still in the oven, the egg did not cook in the time allowed (I know in your recipe it says until eggs are cooked). Since I had to leave it longer the edges were very dark. I will not give up, I will try this recipe again since I think it is a great idea. I will tweak it a bit so I won’t have this problem again.

  13. I am sorry this recipe didn’t turn out well; looking at my pictures, my crust looks a little dark too. Maybe I should change the baking time of the crust to just a couple of minutes instead of 8 like the original recipe. I hope it works better for you next time! I am totally open to suggestions, and I will try this again to try and tweak the recipe too. :)
