Coffee Bean Candles

I really like candles, and I love coffee.  So anything that combines the two has got to be a winner right? I’ve seen these coffee bean candles all over Pinterest, and just had to give them a try.  I wasn’t disappointed!  they look and smell great!

Here is what you need if you’d like to try them:

  • Glass jars
  • Tea lights
  • Whole coffee beans

  • Pour coffee beans into the jar up to your desired level, leaving room for your tea light to sit down in the beans.
  • I decorated the jar with  a little twine, but you could leave it plain or use ribbon…(Just keep it away from the flame when you light it).
  • I made up three of these, and didn’t even use half of my bag of beans.
  • I grouped them together to make a center arrangement for my dining table.

I was wondering if the coffee smell would be too bold, but it wasn’t at all.

This little decorative craft came together so quickly, and I was thrilled with the bang for my buck since it was simple, pretty and smelled good too!

As with all candles, don’t leave them unattended when you’re burning them!

  1. You know what I like best about this? If you leave the tea light burning by accident, it will burn out before it “burns up”!

  2. Thanks for sharing! Youngins helped me round up the materials and now we have two on our dining room table!

  3. what a great (and simple) idea. how cute would they be with little jingle bells in the raffia for Christmas? I am so doing this one today!

    thanks for sharing šŸ™‚

  4. Love this simple idea! Thanks for sharing this on ‘Or so she says…’ at last week’s link party! I would love to have you add the party to your list and stop back to share more of your great ideas. There’s actually a party going on right now (it’s every Saturday through Tuesday.) Thanks a bunch! ~ Mariel http://www.oneshetwoshe.com

  5. I just tried this with some things I had laying around the house. Looks beautiful but even with some bold French Roast coffee beans, it doesn’t smell like anything at all. My tea light is about to burn out an there is no coffee smell at all. One other post said, “your house will smell like Starbucks.” If that is what you are hoping for, you will be disappointed. Am I missing something here, ladies? Is there a trick to make it actually smell like coffee?

  6. What a awesome idea! I love the smell of coffee and I love candles. I will be making these.
Thanks for sharing. Have a wonderful day!
