Snowman Kid Fun

We haven’t had enough snow this year to even attempt to build a snowman. So the kids and I took matters into our own hands, and made some edible snowmen. For this first little guy, I got the idea from Notes from My Classroom and Home, and you only need a few ingredients to make a snack time snowman.

You’ll need: a banana or two, licorice, pretzel sticks, chocolate chips, sprinkles and nuts (optional)

Slice up your bananas and have some fun.

Next we tried an ice cream snowman from Pinterest.  (I couldn’t find the original post.)
Ours were far from “picture perfect,” but there was lots of giggles and fun making and eating them!

To make an icecream “snowman” and I use the term loosely…

You need some icecream, marshmallows, chocolate chips, licorice, sprinkles and cherries (preferably with stems).

Our first and largest mistake was using the giant campfire marshmallows, because that was what I had on hand, and was not willing to make a trip to the store for the regular ones, so our heads are kind of, umm, way too large.

I ended up sticking a pretzel in for the nose, and my son improvised with licorice. There are probably lots of better options in the candy aisle, so we may try again, but the important part was having fun together!
Hey, while you have out the pretzels and marshmallows, you can entertain yourself…

They’re sort of like tinker toys!
Go spend some time with your loved ones.
