I frequently make rice crispy treats for a quick snack or dessert if someone comes over, because they are a no bake alternative for which I almost always have the ingredients already on hand.
After seeing these cake batter treats on Six Sisters’ Stuff, I was anxious to try them with the kind of sprinkles that I like, the little mini confetti.
They were fun and full of flavor from the cake mix addition, and I will definitely be making them again.
Here is what you need:
6 cups crispy rice cereal
10 ounce bag of marshmallows
1/4 cup sprinkles (use as much or little as you like)
1/3 cup yellow cake mix (dry)
3 tablespoons butter, melted
First measure out the rice crispies in a large bowl with half of the sprinkles, and grease a 9 x 13 pan so you’ll be ready when the marshmallow mixture is done.
|My favorite type of “sprinkles.”|
Melt the butter and marshmallows just until melted on the stove top or in the microwave, but don’t over cook or they will get tough quickly.
Then stir in the dry cake mix a little at a time, but once again, try not to over stir so that the mixture will stay pliable.
The cake mix added so much more flavor to these than just regular rice crispy treats, and my guests enjoyed them too!
Hope you enjoy!
