Thrift Store Finds

My sister and I hit an awesome 75% off everything sale at a local thrift store, and found some amazing deals to brighten up our homes. In addition to some good books, videos, and an ice cream maker for the kids and I, this is also what I found:

Aren’t these canisters great?  They don’t match, but I think that makes me like them even better. I am going to fill them with some of my baking supplies. I just love the color and contrast it will add to my kitchen. All together they ended up costing $2.00! That is unbelievable.

I also picked up this cute thing which I am not sure of its official use, but I will probably use it for dips or condiments or pickles and peppers… This set me back $1.00.

These two hanging baskets were $.75 each, and I am planning on using them in a future crafting area in my basement to hold supplies.

On a previous trip I found this gorgeous purse, and picked it up for $4.00 which I thought was a great deal.
I know I’ve mentioned this before, but if you change purses a lot, these little organizing inserts are wonderful for keeping track of all the things we keep in our purses.

When you switch purses, you just lift the insert out and put it in your current choice of purse. They come in different sizes to accommodate all types of bags.

I must have a preference for bright colored purses. Remember this one I snagged for a $1.00 at a yard sale, it’s so cheery looking.
My best deals in the summer I usually find at yard sales. In the fall and winter, thrift stores are a great place to check out, and usually they have a day of the week when things are 50% or more off.
Happy hunting, and I hope you find some fun deals as well!

  4. Hi there,
Just hopped over from Craft-o-maniac’s linky party. Those canisters are such a great find. I also think the mismatched colors make them all the more adorable. I am a new “thrift shop shopper” on the prowl for great treasures.

  5. I store all my baking ingredients, rice, pasta, cereal – almost everything in canisters, which are clearly label using my ptouch. I think it keeps food fresher than the store packaging and is definitely prettier.

  8. I am moving soon, and my new house has a single car garage that has been made into a room, which eventually will be my new sewing/craft room. I love your thrift find – triple dishes on a stand…I’m thinking I can use it for organizing a sewing or craft project — holding those little things you need while working but consistently lose like the seam ripper, hand needles, small tape measure, erasable pencil/pen, Hershey’s kisses (LOL!). , even the cell phone. This was my first visit here and I enjoyed it very much. See you again soon!
