Menu Plan for the Week of January 2
Happy New Year!!! I can’t believe it is 2012. I usually don’t do new years resolutions, but I do have some areas of my life that I would like to improve on: using my time more wisely by trying to adhere to more of a schedule, reading my Bible more and using a prayer list, watching portion sizes, finding an exercise that I can at least tolerate enough to do it, helping my children with life skills and getting outside with them more doing some outdoor activities. I am sure I could go on and on, but those are the things on my heart right now…
So here is the menu for this new week and new year:
(Any combination of the following)
Egg whites and spinach (hubby’s choice)
(We like to add fruit and/or carrots to any of these “entrees”)
Pasta (My kids love it)
Macaroni and cheese
Vegetarian corn dogs
Chicken, turkey or ham sandwiches
Graham crackers and milk
Peanut butter and fluff sandwiches
Whole wheat toast
Yogurt or cheese sticks, crackers
Leftovers from dinner
Chicken and vegetable soup, blueberry muffins and pineapple
Grocery list: I like to doctor up canned vegetable soup with leftover chicken, vegetables and broth, muffin ingredients, pineapple
Fettuccini carbonara and a salad
Grocery list: fettuccini, cream, bacon, Parmesan cheese, butter, eggs, fresh parsley, salad ingredients
Ham and bean soup and…
Sweet light rolls
Grocery list: Roll ingredients, celery, carrots, onion, great northern beans, chicken broth, ham, chili powder, garlic, bay leaf
Chicken pesto stromboli and raw vegetables
Grocery list: dough ingredients, cooked chicken breast, pesto sauce, raw veggies
Steak, baked potatoes and mixed vegetables
Grocery list: steak, potatoes, mixed vegetables, marinade ingredients of your choice
Baked eggs (I use ham instead of sausage) and…
Grocery list: Ham, eggs, milk, bread, mustard, paprika, nutmeg, cheddar cheese, various fruits for salad
Have a great week!

I love your blog.. I started reading it last week and I have to tell you that, you have inspired me to plan meals for the week which has helped me shop! Thank you!.. This week I put your meal planning into action and went to the store and bought only what I needed.. It ended up that I did not buy the same things over and over which is good, more variety but it also helped in not buying things that I already have so thank you!
