Breadbox Turned Charging Station

I saw this great idea at Gabriel’s Good Tidings and since my bread box had somehow ended up in my daughters room, I knew I had one to spare and could make this cool project.

This is what I started with, my empty bread box.  Hubby gouged drilled a hole in the back of it big enough for a three pronged power cord plug to fit through.

Here is said power cord…

and its new location inside my bread box.

I then assembled SOME of our assortment of items in our house that require charging. I used some hair elastics and…

cord clips to keep things a little more organized inside.

Make sure your electronics aren’t getting too warm in there, and that there is plenty of room for air circulation!

I had thought about painting the bread box a bright pretty color but was too lazy tired.

So after selecting a pretty piece of scrapbook paper,

I cut it down to fit the frosted glass front and mod podged it on for some added color.

Voila, here is my finished charging station made from a re-purposed bread box.

  2. This is so clever. I hate having our electronics all over the counter. This is a nice way to conceal them. Nice job!

  3. I think it’s very clever, that’s what I think! And it looks great! thanks for sharing.

  4. I love the re-purposed bread box. My husband is always wanting to get a bread box. I’ve resisted because I’m not much for a ton of stuff sitting on the counter top. However, I will snag the next one I see. Thanks for the inspiration!

  5. This looks great! I love how you adapted it! Thanks for linking back to my blog, too! Great ideas on your site!

  6. Fabulous! Love, Love, LOVE it!
If I come across an inexpensive breadbox at a yard sale or thrift store, I am totally doing this!
    Thanks for sharing 🙂

  7. This is something I need to do rather than hiding the cords in a bin somewhere and then having them all out making a mess, only to hide them away in the bin the next day. They can stay in this box and no one (except us!) is the wiser!! Thanks for all your great ideas!!

  8. Is it weird that I’ve never seen a breadbox? I feel deprived. But now I need one so I can make this. Where oh where can I find a bread box?
