Shelf Redo

I found this little wooden “shelf” (I am not sure of its original use) at a church rummage sale and decided to spruce it up and make it useable for some of my kids’ books.

I gave it a coat of primer, and then found some leftover paint.

After two coats and some drying time…

I thought it was looking more unique.

Here’s how it looks in the boys’ room holding some of their books, and I am pleased at how well it complements the colors in there!
It’s fun to take paint and transform something into a new something!

  1. The shelf looks great.. I have a few small shelves in my spare room that is finally getting cleaned out and eventually I will repaint them too and find unique uses for them..

  2. Love a thrifty redo – love the color you chose. Thanks for sharing with us, I found your link at Today’s Creative Blog party. Mary

  3. I am doing the same thing with an old video shelf. I wonder if that’s what your shelf was for? It’s perfect for books. I’d love to see this idea at my linky party too! OneCreativeMommy.com
