Linking up to blog parties is one of the ways I have been able to grow my blog. There are lots of ways to grow a blog, whether its by SEO, leaving comments, guest posting, holding giveaways or by joining communities, but my favorite is by linking up my posts to other bloggers’ parties. However, this can be time consuming, and so over the past two years I’ve tried to streamline the process as much as possible.
Since the parties start at different times of the day, and I usually try to link up in the morning before I get the school day going with my kids, I needed a simple and easy way to keep track of the ones that weren’t up yet, so if I had a few minutes at my computer later in the day, I could just glance and see if there were any favorite parties left to try and link up to.
There may be a more technical way of doing this, but for all my time on the computer, I like hard paper copies.
In this post I showed my different binders for trying to keep my family and I organized, and for my blog parties, I have made up a printable to organize them by day.
Now at the end of most posts, I have a list already of the links back to the sites having the parties, but I like to have a hard copy because it makes it easy to keep track of who I’ve linked to that day already, in case I get interrupted, or would like to try and finish later, without having to tax my memory. Am I as clear as mud?
I make a printable, which I do have to update occasionally as I add or delete parties, and then either put it in a sheet protector, or laminate it for my notebook (department stores or office supply stores carry laminating pouches that you can easily use at home for laminating).
This allows me to use a dry erase marker to mark up where I stopped linking up, or which parties weren’t up yet, so if I get the chance, I can finish later. Then I can easily wipe it off and use it over and over again. It works for me, and if you are interested in my blog party list which I updated this week, you can print it out here!
