Dinner Ideas for the Week
Happy Thanksgiving week! It’s the week of the year when I start getting the itch to get my Christmas tree up, work on my Christmas list, and start addressing Christmas cards, but it’s also a reflective time. There is so much going on in the world, and life can seem so uncertain and scary at times, but when I start to feel anxious, I’m learning to focus on my blessings with a grateful and thankful heart, and to be thoughtful of others.
I was reminded today, while listening to Charles Stanley, that my biggest blessing is that God. Chose. Me., for no good doing on my part, to be His child, and that my faith in Him is actually a gift from Him. It’s not even my own faith, even the faith that I have in Him, comes from Him, and I can never be grateful enough for that.
I made up this Thanksgiving Printable last week as a reminder that God is good and merciful, and we have so much to be thankful for.
Here’s some dinner inspiration for your week:
Baked Eggs, Ham and Cheese Casserole
Grocery list: Eggs, ham, Cheddar cheese, bread, milk, onion and mustard
This type of casserole is a staple in my family. When my parents still lived close by, my brother, sister and I, and our families would have lunch at our parents’ house after church on Sundays, and an egg, ham and cheese casserole was one of our favorites! You can double or triple it to serve a crowd.
Grocery list: Pancake ingredients, fruit, bacon and eggs
Many of us will have overnight guests this week with the Thanksgiving holiday, and I think a pancake bar would make a wonderful brunch idea!
Meatball subs and raw veggies
Grocery list: Buns, meatballs, provolone cheese, pasta sauce and raw veggies
If you’re in need of a crockpot meal for a busy day, pick up some good quality frozen meatballs, and put them in the crockpot with your favorite pasta sauce, and a few hours later, your family pleasing dinner is practically done!
Cheddar cheese, onion, french fried onions and sour cream
This can be a side dish, or you can add ham and make it a main dish. 🙂
I hope and pray that this Thanksgiving finds you with peace in your heart, which I know from experience can only come from a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
My dessert choice for this week is kind of a no brainer, Pumpkin Pie with a Shortbread Crust!

Have a great week!
I’m getting hungry! Your pancake bar is such a great idea for guests. The ham and potato casserole is a long-time favorite of ours. Pumpkin pie on shortbread seems like a great combo! I’ll need to pin that for later.
