Chocolate and Butterscotch Caramel Pecan Bars

  • For the crust:
  • 2 c flour
  • 3/4 c brown sugar packed
  • 1/2 c softened butter
  • 1 1/2 c pecan halves
  • Caramel Middle:
  • 1 c butter
  • 3/4 c brown sugar packed
  • Glaze:
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/3 c butterscotch chips


  • For the crust:
  • In electric mixer, beat the flour, sugar and butter until crumbly, and then pat down firmly in the bottom of a greased 13×9 inch pan.
  • Sprinkle the pecans over the top of the crust.
  • Caramel Middle:
  • Cook brown sugar and butter on medium heat, while stirring until it bubbles for a minute or so, and then pour over crust.
  • Bake for 20 minutes at 350 degrees.
  • Glaze:
  • As soon as you take it out of the oven sprinkle chips over the top.
  • Let them melt for 3 minutes, and then take a butter knife or spatula and flatten out and swirl the chips a little to spread them out and make a pretty design.
  • Cool completely (I put mine in the refrigerator for a little while), cut into bars and indulge!
