Organizing Desk Drawers

I am so excited to have completed this task before starting homeschooling for the year. Once that starts, I am going to have less time for such tasks, and it makes me feel so good to get some areas of our home organized.
The main household computer sits on one small desk, for the kids to use, and then I have my own larger desk, and a small dresser for the printer, and all the drawers needed to be weeded through as you can see.

My first step was to empty everything out of the drawers.

I found a wide range of things including a stuffed animal, Christmas ornament, hairbows, scrunchies...
So, I sorted everything into piles.

Trash, books and magazines to be relocated, electronics, paperwork to file, address labels...
Then I put away what needed to be put away, threw away what was trash, and found some baskets and decorative boxes to use for sorting and holding things that needed to go back in the drawers.
I've seen this tip across blog land for holding your containers in place in drawers, so I picked up this:

Little velcro squares to attach to the baskets and the bottom of the drawer.

My mother-in-law gave me these cute little boxes, so I decided to use them in one of the drawers to hold things we only use occasionally.
Here are the exciting after views of my desk drawers:

Don't they look so much better!? Now I can find what I'm looking for, which is ALWAYS a bonus!
I also think it creates motivation to continue getting things in order elsewhere.
At least I know it does for me!

Blessings, Margo
