Mini Cheeseburger Pies

We enjoy a good cheeseburger at our house. I also enjoy easy, yet all-in-one type recipes, so when I saw a recipe for Easy Mini Cheeseburger Pies on the Betty Crocker website, I was excited to give it a try!

Mini Cheeseburger Pies, Joyful Homemaking

My husband said they tasted just like cheeseburgers!
Here is my modified version of their recipe: (I always ran out of liquid when I followed their recipe exactly).

Mini Cheeseburger Pies, Joyful Homemaking

1 pound ground beef
1 cup chopped red onion (I use 2 Tablespoons of dried minced onion, and it works great)
1 Tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1 cup Cheddar cheese, shredded
Thoroughly cook beef and onion (if you use fresh onion), and then drain.  Add the Worcestershire sauce, garlic salt and the Cheddar cheese.

1 cup milk
1 cup Bisquick mix (I like to use the reduced fat mix)
2 eggs
Blend the milk, Bisquick mix and eggs together.
Grease 12 muffin cups, and put 1 Tablespoon of the liquid mix into each.

Then on top of that, put 1/4 cup of the burger mixture in each, and finally pour 1 Tablespoon more of the liquid mixture on top of the burger mixture.

Bake for 25-30 minutes in a preheated 375 degree oven, till golden and puffy.  Watch, so they don't get too brown.

Let cool, then gently remove from pan. Serve with pickles, tomatoes, ketchup or mustard.

Mini Cheeseburger Pies

We could not believe how much these tasted like eating a regular cheeseburger, only in a convenient little package!  Hope you enjoy them!

What a great idea to make little pies like this! They sound like a great meal, and would be a great appetizer!!!

Do you think you could freeze these and just heat up in the microwave ?
