It begins on a busy night in Bethlehem, where Mary and Joseph find shelter in a humble stable, and baby Jesus is born and laid in a manger.

An angel brings the good news to shepherds in the fields, and they hurry to see the child and share their joy. It’s important to teach children that the greatest gift isn’t something bought in a store.

A bright star also guides the wise men from far away to where Jesus was and they brought Him gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.

In a season that can feel busy and noisy, a quiet afternoon with crayons and the nativity story helps put the focus back on Jesus, the Son of God.
