Ok, so summer is over in my neck of the woods, but it’s never to late for a summery treat in the form of pretty and sweet shaved ice, right?     Actually, I made this a few weeks ago, and my littlest guy thoroughly enjoyed it!

I was so excited that I wouldn’t need any special equipment (like a machine to shave ice),
and it’s so easy too!

For each color/flavor that you would like to make, you need a 3 ounce box of jello,

2 cups of sprite (7up, or a generic equivalent), and 1 cup of boiling water.

First, mix the boiling water with the jello mix till the crystals are dissolved, and then stir in the pop.

Pour into a container that you can put in the freezer (I used ones with lids).

Make all your flavors and freeze in separate containers over night.

When you’re ready to have some, use a big spoon or ice cream scoop and scoop it out.

It’s not overly sweet, and if you like it really sweet,
a fun way to eat/drink it, is in a glass with sprite poured over it!
Hope you enjoy!

  1. Love this! I wonder if it would stay slushy enough if I used water kefir place of the sprite since that’s the nearest thing we have to soda around here…

  2. One of my favorite treats is Shaved Ice, I will be trying this today! Thank you so much for sharing with Full Plate Thursday and have a fun weekend!
