Ok, so summer is over in my neck of the woods, but it’s never to late for a summery treat in the form of pretty and sweet shaved ice, right? Actually, I made this a few weeks ago, and my littlest guy thoroughly enjoyed it!
I was so excited that I wouldn’t need any special equipment (like a machine to shave ice),
and it’s so easy too!
For each color/flavor that you would like to make, you need a 3 ounce box of jello,
2 cups of sprite (7up, or a generic equivalent), and 1 cup of boiling water.
First, mix the boiling water with the jello mix till the crystals are dissolved, and then stir in the pop.
Pour into a container that you can put in the freezer (I used ones with lids).
Make all your flavors and freeze in separate containers over night.
When you’re ready to have some, use a big spoon or ice cream scoop and scoop it out.
It’s not overly sweet, and if you like it really sweet,
a fun way to eat/drink it, is in a glass with sprite poured over it!
Hope you enjoy!
I have been craving shaved ice or snowcones lately but no one sells them here. This is great; I’ll be trying it!
Love it. Pinned! You changed your blog a little. I think it was a pink before?!
Love this! I wonder if it would stay slushy enough if I used water kefir place of the sprite since that’s the nearest thing we have to soda around here…
Margo! What a fun thing to do with the kids. Nothing like shaved ice on a hot day.
Thanks for linking up to Throwback Thursday!

Wonderful idea! Thanks for saving me from buying another appliance I don’t need. I was going to buy my kids a snow cone maker, but now I don’t have to! Thanks for posting. Lauren from Mom Home Guide
