With our lives being so busy these days, it’s nice sometimes to have some convenient fast options for meal times on hand. I certainly take advantage of pre-packaged store-bought frozen foods on occasion. There are lots of advantages of frozen foods:
- Portion control
- Ease of preparation
- Easily try different cuisines
- Freezing locks in freshness, flavor and nutrients.
- Keeps just picked, just baked or just crafted foods at the peak of freshness
Breakfast sandwiches are so nice to have around for a protein rich breakfast in a snap.
Hillshire offers a Delights by Jimmy Dean line which I’ve used quite a bit, as my oldest child this summer has to leave early in the morning, for an internship he is doing, and he can throw one of these in the microwave, and be all set to go!
If you’re vegetarian, Kelloggs has a Morning Star Farms brand of Veggie Scramble breakfast sandwiches, that are nice alternative. I’ve used Morning Star Farms products for years, even though we do eat meat, just as a quick meal.
Another Kellogg’s product is their Eggo line of pancakes, waffles and french toast… that can help easily round out a meal!
So yummy!
If you want a convenient calorie conscious lunch, Heinz’s Smart Ones has some tasty options, like this Three Cheese Ziti Marinara.
ConAgra also offers lunch time solutions with their Healthy Choice Cafe Steamers, which come in many different cuisines.
I really like these because they have a built in basket that steams the food!
