My two youngest children love cute little animals, unfortunately, in our house with all of our allergies, we have to settle for stuffed ones (that go with us for every car ride), or edible ones. 🙂 Now is the time of year for bunnies, chicks and babies, and so when I saw these precious cinnamon roll bunnies on Pinterest, I had to give them a try for my daughter’s birthday lunch.
Everyone seemed to fashion theirs a little different on Pinterest,
but I ended up using one cinnamon roll for the face, and one for the ears.
That seemed to be the easiest!
Here is what you need:
One can of cinnamon rolls; this Cinnabon kind was very good, and the rolls were split all the way through. (Update: Since making these several times, I’ve noticed some brands of cinnamon rolls aren’t split all the way through. This is still manageable, but just adds an extra step, since you have to cut them all the way through with a knife, in order to unroll them for the ears.)
We used almond slivers for the buck teeth, and I waited till the bunnies were baked to use chocolate chips for the eyes. You could use raisins instead. (Update: wait until the rolls are almost finished baking, and then add the teeth, that way they stay closer together.)
I decided not to cover them all up with frosting, but you could if you like lots of frosting on your cinnamon rolls. We didn’t get very fancy, but get as fancy as you like, with jelly beans, licorice or sprinkles.
We enjoyed ourselves, and our birthday lunch treat, but if you’re having company for Easter,
this would be a fun and sweet activity!
Very cute! Looks pretty easy, too.
I would love if you would share this at my link party. http://www.realcoake.com/2013/03/real-family-fun-5.html
