, Menu Plan for the Week of Nov. 14, Joyful Homemaking

We had snow last week! The first snow is always magical and pretty, and makes our house have a warm glow coming in through the windows. The kids had to go out and throw slushy snowballs, while I snapped pictures. So fun!

Here is the menu plan:

Breakfast Options:
(Any combination of the following)
French toast
Cereal
Fruit
Waffles
Toast
Eggs
Oatmeal
Poptarts
Egg whites and spinach (hubby’s choice)
Pancakes

Lunch Options:
(We like to add fruit and/or carrots to any of these “entrees”)
Pasta  (My kids love it)
Ravioli
Macaroni and cheese
Vegetarian corn dogs
Vegetarian hamburgers
Hot dogs
Chicken,  turkey or ham sandwiches
Graham crackers and milk
English muffins
Peanut butter and fluff sandwiches
Whole wheat toast
Soup
Yogurt or cheese sticks, crackers
Leftovers from dinner

Dinner:

Grocery list: 2 pie crusts, mixed vegetables, onion, chicken broth, chicken

Grocery list:  Pinto beans, cornbread mix, salad ingredients, bacon (optional), pinto bean seasoning

Chicken noodle soup and the best  Light rolls
Grocery list: I start with canned soup, and then doctor it up with extra chicken, broth and vegetables; light roll ingredients-flour, yeast, eggs….

Baked Chicken chimichangas
Grocery list: Tortillas, chicken, onion, green chilies, cilantro, cumin, refried beans, salsa, olive oil, sour cream, guacamole, taco rice, lettuce, tomato

Scrambled eggs
Grocery list: Eggs, rolls, peaches, broccoli

Grocery list: Hamburger or turkey,  2 cans vegetarian vegetable soup, 1 pie crust, potatoes, cheddar cheese
It’s all about comfort foods for this chilly week.

  7. I made pot pie tonight. Our Church had Thanksgiving dinner. And they baged the left overs for those that wanted to take some home. So I made my favorite homemade pie crust. I boil broken pieces lasagne, peas & carrots, turkey gravy, turkey meat, and potatoes.So much for healthy eating before Thanksgiving Day.
