Back in January, I showed you the new flooring we had put in our entryway, hallway and bathroom.
At the same time, since the new flooring extended into the hall coat closet,
we gave it a little makeover as well, with some fresh paint and some new shelving.
I’ve organized our coat closet a couple of times before, but we have plenty of closet space and hooks to hang
our coats elsewhere, so I wanted more shelves for shoes and other things that always seem to end up in
the entryway. So my husband graciously put in a track system so we can move the shelves around as needed.
Now I just need to get busy and utilize this space efficiently and hopefully attractively too!
I’ll be sure to show you the finished result!
Another way we’ve modernized our decor was by changing out all our old shiny brass
interior door handles with some dark bronze ones, and I love the new look!
I’m constantly moving things around, it’s fun for me and I’m always trying to make our home
more efficient and to flow better.
I use a file folder holder to temporarily hold items from the mail.
I decided I really needed that counter space in the kitchen,
so I came up with an alternative landing spot for things.
I redid this dresser, and for a while used it for a tv stand, but now it’s back in the entry as a landing station.
I use a basket for file folders and incoming mail,
and a basket on the floor for our constant flow of library books.
I bought a little wooden tray to use for charging cell phones.
So far this set up is working great!
Does anyone else like to move things around in their home as much as I do?
Thanks for sharing this. Your home is lovely. And yes…I am constantly moving things around and my daughter is always asking me what I am doing and why.
Thank you for your sweet comment! My hubs rolls his eyes when he sees that I’ve moved things again, but I feel like it’s like getting something new for free! 😉
