Running a household with a family, a home, vehicles and jobs is a lot of work, and requires organization for it to run optimally. If you have a home based business or work from home, things get even more complicated to manage. It can be so helpful to have an organized office space to serve as a functional work station to efficiently handle taking care of your family’s schedule, health records, insurance, bills, deeds, titles, wills, photos and tax information.
Even if you don’t have a whole extra room or large space to designate as an office, having a filing system and organized desk somewhere in your home is, dare I say, essential. So I’d like to share some office organization ideas to help get your creative juices flowing, to set up not only a useful space, but an attractive one as well!
I’m very thankful for my home, but I don’t have an extra room to designate as a dedicated office space. So instead, I have a desk space set up in a corner of my bedroom. I’ve recently taken steps to make it not only more efficient and organized, but also prettier and “cozier.”
So whether you have a whole room to dedicate to a home office, or just a nook, here are some office organization ideas of things you can assemble together to create a productive and inviting space:
- Desk
- Filing System
- Good Lighting
- Computer
- Printer
- Shredder
- Daily Planner
- Supportive Chair
- Storage
I bought my desk years ago on clearance at Staples. What I like about it are a couple of things: I like not having a set of drawers underneath on either side because it gives me more room for my chair to slide around. Also, since there’s a window behind my desk, I wouldn’t be able to put shelves above it, so I like the attached hutch, which lets me use valuable vertical space.
As far as things that may not be mandatory, but yet make an office space more inviting and attractive:
- Storage
- Decorative Storage Boxes
- Pretty Cozy Accents
- Greenery
- Photos
Now everyone’s styles aren’t the same, so let’s take a look at some other super organized spaces from our
