Who doesn’t love a good rice crispy treat!?
It’s so convenient to have the ingredients on hand to make them,
especially when you need a quick dessert for company, or a sweet tooth.
When you add peanut butter and chocolate,
it takes those rice crispy treats up a few notches!
Don’t they look tempting? They are a cinch to make, and scrumptious to eat!
Here is what you need for this super easy recipe:
4 Tablespoons unsalted butter
10 ounce bag mini marshmallows
3/4 cup of creamy peanut butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
7 cups rice crispy cereal
1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
First, measure out your cereal in a large bowl, so that it’s ready when you are.
Do the same with your peanut butter and vanilla.
Then, in a microwave safe bowl, melt together the butter and marshmallows
in 30 second increments, stirring in between till it’s all melted.
Then stir in the peanut butter and vanilla, and mix till combined.
Pour over the cereal and mix well.
Then lightly blend in the chocolate chips
(I had to use my hands since the mixture gets thick),
but do it gently so the chocolate chips
won’t smear around and make your treats ugly.
Pat gently into a greased 9×13 pan.
Let sit till firm, and if you like, chill for a few minutes in the refrigerator.
