For some reason, it took me a long time to realize that it wasn’t just for my benefit that I give my kids some responsibilities around the house, but for their benefit as well. They need to learn how to do jobs, and do them to the best of their ability, and this will benefit them their entire lives.
So I’ve been looking for products to help even the younger ones to get the job done.
A small broom and dustpan set are perfect for younger kids to handle
and sweep up little messes.
Mild but effective cleaning wipes are an easy way for older kids to help
wipe counters or little spills.
(Choose ones that are safe for the ages of your children).
There are lots of options for dusting materials:
Disposable dusting mitts from the dollar store.
Washable dusting mitts, also from the dollar store.
A favorite of my kids is the Swiffer type dusters.
There is always the microfiber cloth.
Add a little inspirational music, and you and your children
can have fun getting the chores done!
I’ve always believed that kids should help with chores for the reasons you’ve listed and to free up some of your own time. With three kids I would have gone crazy trying to keep the house clean if they didn’t help.
Lovely blog! I invite you to link up to our blog hop and linky if you’d like http://www.thefamilyfunspot.com/2013/11/bloggers-unidas-2.html 😉 have a lovely day!
My kids both have chores they are responsible for and have since they were quite young! I think it’s very important! Thanks for sharing at our Mommy Club Linky Party! I can’t wait to see more ideas and projects that you have!
