Cake Mix Confetti Blondies

Jump to Recipe Print Recipe

I may have made blondies once in my lifetime, since chocolate brownies are just an easy dessert staple around here, and we don't tend to be very adventurous.  However, since I've seen so many delicious looking recipes all over the web, I was compelled to try a blondie brownie.

They were a knockout in taste, and they made the house smell
so divine while they were baking!
I used butterscotch morsels chopped finely,
which gave the blondies a rich "caramely" taste.

Here is what you need:
1 box of yellow cake mix (16.5 ounce)
1/4 cup butter, melted
1 egg
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup of sprinkles
1/2 cup butterscotch morsels

Cake Mix Confetti Blondies

Mix together the cake mix, butter, egg and milk.

If you don't want big pieces of butterscotch (I didn't),
chop up your chips very finely with a knife.

This way they incorporate flavor without large obvious chunks.

Then add these and the sprinkles lightly to the batter.
If you mix too much, you will make all the colors run together,
and they might not look as pretty.

My favorite sprinkles.

Pour into a greased 11x7 baking dish,
and if you like, add some extra confetti sprinkles on the top.
Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 25 to 30 minutes.

Let cool thoroughly so the bars can "set" before cutting them.

These were so tempting and sweet!

Fun idea! Like you, brownies are our uninspired dessert staple--this would really mix things up! I'm glad you linked to Food on Fridays!
