For the second year in a row, my little girl has chosen to take the cooking class at vacation Bible school, and they always make some fun, delicious, and kid friendly food.  This year, one of the recipes they made were these Cheeseburger cups, and let me tell you, they were scrumptious! I couldn’t wait to make them for our family, and we gobbled them up because they were so delicious!

These were a cinch to make, and taste like a delicious cheeseburger, without you having to fire up the grill.

Here’s what you need to make them:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 Tablespoon brown sugar (don’t pack it or it will be too sweet)
  • 1 Tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 7.5 ounce can of biscuits (the little ones that come in multipacks)
  • 3 cheddar cheese sticks
  • optional: pickles

I made a few changes to the original recipe which called for 2 Tablespoons of brown sugar, the larger size biscuits, and Velveeta cheese.  I prefer the smaller size biscuits so there’s less dough, and I’ve never bought Velveeta cheese, since we like “real” cheese, and with the full amount of brown sugar, for me it was a bit too sweet, so I reduced it.

Lightly grease your cupcake pan, and then press the biscuits into the bottom and up the sides of each cup.

Put about 1/4 cup of the hamburger mixture into each biscuit, until it’s all evenly distributed. Then chop up the cheese sticks in half inch cubes and top the hamburger cups with them.

Bake for 20 minutes, in a preheated 375 degree oven, or until the biscuits are lightly golden.

Then just try and not EAT. THEM. ALL.

If you like, top with chopped up pickles.

  1. I have not tried this recipe yet. I need recipes that are low sodium since I am stage 3 kidney disease. I would appreciate any recipes the would also be free of tomatoes and orange juice or any part of the orange. I really appreciate any help you can give me, thank you,
