These quick and easy biscuit doughnuts were one of my first posts I did over 4 years ago, but since I’d like to think I’m a little better at taking photos now, than I was back then, AND since they are a favorite treat for my kids, I thought I would post them again!

, Quick and Easy Doughnuts, Joyful HomemakingThese doughnuts are truly so easy to make.  My mom used to make them for my brother, sister and I, and it was fun to watch them puff up in the oil.

1.  All you need is a 7.5 ounce can of biscuits–I like to use the cheap small ones that come in packs of four cans.  I would not use the giant fluffy ones with lots of layers; they might fall apart.

2.  Heat up about 2 inches of oil on Low heat. You want TINY bubbles in the oil.  I put the oil on a back burner, so the hot oil is away from the edge of the stove.

3. By pulling gently, make a large hole in the middle of each biscuit. My two youngest like to do this part!

5. Drain on paper towels, and let them cool slightly.

6. You can then mix up some cinnamon and sugar, and shake them in a brown bag or baggie to coat. I use 1 tablespoon of cinnamon to 1/2 cup of white granulated sugar.

OPTIONS:  Let them cool completely, and frost them (I often use store bought frosting :P), and then decorate with sprinkles or jimmies. Another option would be to coat them with powdered sugar, or just use your imagination to personalize them to your taste, and Have Fun.
