Ingredients:

  • 3 15oz. cans of navy beans
  • 1 cup of ham, chopped in bite size pieces
  • 1 onion, chopped finely
  • 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 cup of water

Combine beans (and their liquid) with all the other ingredients in a sauce pan.

Stir and bring soup to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer till onion is cooked “tender-crisp” (maybe 10 minutes).

  • Then you are ready to serve with some hot cornbread or a crusty hearty bread!
