Raw veggies are popular for informal get togethers, football parties, or just for appetizers in general, but if you’re like me, you’re a little wary of the dip bowl. With little kids poking their fingers in it, and double dippers abounding, it can be a germy, unappetizing mess. I have the solution! How about single serving, veggies and dip in one?!
We frequently have family get togethers on Sunday afternoons, and each one of us pitch in to supply the food. Almost always, one of us brings a veggie tray, and I wanted to try these single serving veggies out on my family, for a creative new way to serve fresh veggies.
Aren’t they fun looking?
I started out washing, and then cutting up all my vegetables the same length. I used yellow, green and red peppers, carrots, cucumbers and celery.
I found my little containers in the “beverage” section of the grocery, where I had hoped to find clear ones, but I took what was available.
I put a little dip/dressing only in about half of them, in case some people didn’t want dip with their veggies, and then divvied up my veggies.
They were a bit more time consuming than a plain old veggie tray, but they were a hit!
I think you get a lot of bang for your buck, and possibly some more veggies into the kiddos!
How completely cute! I would have gone for the clear cups, too–BUT the rainbow ones look so cheery and festive! I will have to try it. And in the cheery rainbow cups! Thanks for your blog. I find it so encouraging.
