Meal Plan for the Week of March 2nd
I’m glad it’s a new week, ’cause last week was CRAZY! Although as I write this, our weathermen are forecasting a huge snowstorm, so that may be an interesting start to this week. They’re not always right, so we shall see…
Last week, our little chipmunk friend entertained the children and I while we did school work, and this week, it was a hungry squirrel eating all our bird food! The kids LOVE watching the wildlife, so I can’t mind too much.
If you’re looking for a luscious Blueberry Coffee Cake, this is the recipe for you!

This menu plan looks amazing! Was curious about a few things: how much do you spend per week/how much is homemade (do you make waffles or buy premade_)/how much do you freeze because it looks like a ton of breakfast options! Also curious what you do for snacks?? And do you try to keep everything healthy/balanced? Really looking for the perfect meal plan so would love a response! Thanks for sharing for free!!
Thank you for your interest! It’s hard to say exactly how much I spend on groceries because sometimes I have so much leftover that I’ll skip a week of shopping, but I can tell you that we have budgeted $150 a week for grocery and household items. We do like to buy grass fed beef and free range poultry which both tend to cost more, and my husband buys protein powder and bars. I used to coupon extensively before starting the blog, but now it tends to take up alot of the time that I used to use couponing, although I am trying to get back into the habit on a smaller scale, especially for things we use constantly. I don’t have all the breakfast and lunch options on hand all the time, those are just options of what we might eat on a weekly or monthly basis. As far as buying premade or baking my own, I do both, depending on how much time and motivation I have. For snacks my children like grapes, oranges, apples, applesauce, bagels, granola bars, pretzels, orange juice, yogurt, string cheese, crackers and peanut butter. I’m always trying to get more veggies and fruits into our diet. I always have on hand baby carrots sticks, spinach leaves and fruit cups to supplement a dinner that may be light on veggies. I have a chest freezer in our basement which is almost always full, unless I skip a week of shopping. I hope this helps!
Thank you so Much for your reply! Do the meal plans always come out monday morning? I think this is the flexibility I’ve been looking for, and allows me to use my regions sales etc. I also have a small child so I like that your options are tailored to kids! How much baked goods do you tend to have on hand each week?
I post my meal plan on Sunday afternoon. I almost always have waffles, pancakes, bread and bagels in my freezer. 🙂
I have pinned the blueberry coffee cake to my Pinterest board (don’t you just love Pinterest) and plan on trying it very soon. Thanks for sharing!
Hope you enjoy it!! 🙂
