Do you get frustrated opening your child’s lunchbox after school and finding an untouched sandwich which they didn’t eat, AGAIN? That was me last year. After homeschooling for 14 years, we started sending our kids to school. They go to a small private school that doesn’t serve hot lunches, so I pack their lunches. Last year my son got very tired of sandwiches even though I tried switching things up with different toppings and breads.
So I purchased these cute segmented lunch boxes and started working on a list of lunch ideas that didn’t involve sandwiches.
My youngest son LOVES my pepperoni rolls, which I make with my pizza/stromboli dough recipe, and then just fill pieces of dough with cheese and pepperoni, and bake.
Lunch Idea #1:
- Pepperoni rolls
- Carrot sticks
- Pizza sauce
- Kiwi
- M&M’s
Lunch Idea #2:
- Pretzel crisps
- Peanut butter
- Carrot sticks
- Cheese stick
- Grapes
- Rice crispy square
Another favorite in our house is my tried and true, make it almost every week Banana Bread.
Lunch Idea #3:
- Banana bread
- Hard-boiled eggs
- Carrot sticks
- Clementines
- Yogurt
- M&M’s
We’ve recently found out how good Naan bread is especially for mini pizzas, so I thought why not have a DIY version for lunch too?
Lunch Idea #4:
- Naan bread
- Turkey or beef pepperoni (I like nitrate-free)
- Pizza sauce
- Mozzarella cheese
- Raw broccoli florets
Lunch Idea #5:
- Cheese pizza
- Light cheese cube
- Mixed raw vegetables
- Grapes
- Chocolate chip cookies
