Oh my goodness, these are so good! I saw the idea in a book, but no recipe, so I found an Emeril recipe for spiced nuts and modified it. They turned out so delicious, and they are just perfect for this time of year!

2 cups of raw nuts (I used 1 cup of pecan halves and 1 cup of whole almonds.)
2 Tablespoons butter

1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
pinch or two of salt

Toast the nuts in a dry pan for about 5 minutes over medium low heat, while stirring so they don’t burn.

When done, pour them into a separate container. Put all the rest of the ingredients in your hot pan, (Be CAREFUL with the water; it spatters.)  and stir for about 2 minutes till it thickens.

  5. Hey!
Just wanted to let you know that over at createlive, we’re just finishing up a pumpkin recipe series called “The 12 Days of Pumpkins.” For the next few days, we’ll be hosting a link-up, featuring any recipes involving pumpkin, and will be choosing a good number of these recipes to have their own page (which can include your blog name and URL!) in a pumpkin cookbook! Just thought you might be interested in the additional press or being included in a cookbook – and this is a really great recipe! Find the link up here!
    Have a great one 🙂

  6. These look amazing! I didn’t think pecans could get any tastier, but I think you’ve succeeded in making them so. I also love how simple this recipe is. I would serve these with Thanksgiving appetizers.

  7. I made these with a different spice combination last year. I think I found the recipe in a Martha Stewart book or magazine. Boy are they yummy, and addictive!

  8. I just made them and wow are they good! I subbed extra virgin coconut oil for the butter and stevia for the brown sugar (to make me feel less guilty for eating all of them by myself) and they’re still delicious!

  9. Oh, these sound yummy! We make spiced nuts each year around the holidays but never Pumpkin Pie Spiced. My youngest sons favorite thing is Pumpkin Pin so I bet he would love these. I will for sure be making these soon. Thanks so much for sharing. Visiting you from Flaunt it Friday party.
